Course Approval

I've to blog this b4 starting my research on the modules and their timetables..

Course approval at Otago started today.. and i now truly appreciate the CORS bidding system in NUS.. everything is done in the comfort of my own home and in front of a laptop!! i was up like 7am!!! tts super early since i'm always up at 9/10am??

How does course approval work at Otago?? hmmz.. the respective faculties have their booths set up at different locations in the university.. so walk around the university in the freezing cold to get the module u wish to take signed by the respective department... and if there are any changes or additions or deletions.. need to get the changes signed! i spent like 20mins-30 mins in a queue juz to get a deletion signed??!! and spent another 20-30mins in another queue to get a signature!! my gosh!! and if u're unlucky, happen to take a popular paper.. the queue is super long and u've juz gotta be patient and wait in line.. guess the advisors here really need to talk to u abt the prerequsites and stuff.. make sure tt u're up to standard to take the particular module, or paper as they call it over here..

hmmz.. had to meet the stats course advisor.. he was really nice and helpful... hope tt he'll be lecturing on one of the stats papers!! talked to some of the uni students.. seems tt other than a few papers.. the lecturers here are pretty interesting! tt shld be gd! i'm not here in NZ to sleep at lectures.. hehe.. ok lar.. the duration of each lecture is 50 mins only, so shldnt be too tiring!

eekz.. somehow all the advisors missed out tt i've 6 papers on my course approval form.. and when it was keyed in the system, there were no timetable clashes.. so i'm cleared to do 6 papers! no one realised it till i pointed out tt shldn't it be a problem?? and hence was referred to the advisory panel to discuss workload issues.. oh well.. i dun intend to do 6 papers.. but i really really want to do a music paper at Otago, but the credits cant be transferred to NUS.. so how?? now i've got to decide which modules i wanna take.. 3 stats, 2 fac req and 1 music module.. sigh.. gotta drop 1...

was looking at the different timetables and there were clashes in some.. so i've no idea how the system could have missed out on mine.. did they enrol me in semester 2 papers?? hehe.. if they did, can i request NUS to let me extend my sep?? its quite nice here.. other than the cold... brr..

ok!! enough day-dreaming!! back to work!! gotta settle all my papers b4 classes start!!
