AHHHHHH!!!!!
Cant believe what i have been doing the past week!!! Have been in the library studying since sat nite.. and camping there till the library closes.. cuz of assignment and test.. think my body is gg haywire soon!!
What was most unbelievable was last nite!! haha.. some of you saw me online for the first time in a long while.. well.. i was actually in the 24hr computer lab in the science building.. and tt was prob nearly 2am NZ time.. library was closed at 11pm and i had not finished studying for my test today.. and maly had not completed her essays which were due today too... so we decided to continue staying in sch as we would not be able to complete anything if we went back.. and i cant believe tt i was camped out in the com lab till 5.30am!!
was so tired lar!! have been tired the whole week.. practically sleeping at all my lectures.. and in the end.. i was so tired tt i fell asleep in the com lab at 3am.. woke up a few times to try studying budden in the end still gave in to sleeping.. gosh.. i still cant believe tt i did tt lar.. camping overnight in sch.. maly and i were so tired tt we decided to call it a nite (oh wait.. its already 5.30am.. so mebbe its a day) and head back to her place.. its so freezing cold in the wee hours of the morning..
too dark to walk back to toroa so spent the rest of the morning sleeping at her place.. gosh!! we were so tired we conked out immediately.. had to drag myself out of bed so tt i could head back to toroa to freshen up and continue studying b4 the test..
haha!! maly and i were quite shocked tt we actually spent the nite in sch.. it still seems quite surreal to us... dun think we would actually do tt in NUS, and furthermore.. we're exchange students!!
eekz.. din realli have a clear mind when i went in for the test.. and there was lots of explanation.. aiyo.. hope i'm coherent lar.. i dun ask for much.. an A- would do =p this stats paper is much harder than the other one.. so i dun expect to get full marks for it.. and seriously.. i did not expect to get full marks for the mid-sem test for the other stats paper lar..
zy is right.. i seem to study more here in NZ than at NUS.. dunno y lar.. maly agrees tt she studies more here too.. mebbe cuz we enjoy studying here?? lectures here are definitely more fun and interesting than at NUS.. and i love gg for music lessons!!
anyway!! to reward myself for the hard work.. i'll be running away for the weekend!! its partly something i wanted to do for my bday.. to run away!! haha!! will be taking the weekend off and gg to queenstown with tammy to chill and relax.. forget everything and juz spend a stress-free weekend!! yay!! and hopefully i'll be back fresh and ready to face another killer week of test and assignments.. eekz!!

MIA
will be away camping in the library for the next 2 weeks i guess.. have a stats test which i never knew existed.. muz have been slping while the lecturer was talking abt it.. luckily it was postponed to an unconfirmed date.. but to be safe.. i shld start studying for it now.. erm.. abt 20+ lecture notes to read thru and a huge stack of assignments to read??
physics conceptual test and homework due on tue.. will clear tt tml b4 starting on stats.. argh!! 5 weeks to exams!! tts super fast la.. will be gg to mount cook on one of the weekends.. hehe!! but muz clear these few busy weeks first b4 taking a short break and den exams.. eeyer
so no worries if i go MIA!! all the best for your remaining papers!! and start enjoying ur hols =)

Malaysian Night!
Toroa held a Malaysian Night at Manawa last nite! It was great fun helping tammy darling out with a sago dish.. totally loved it!! tammy darling first made it when we went on our easter trip.. sago with coconut bits coating it.. yummy!!
helped yana with the cutting of kueh and stuff.. it was hard work but it was totally worth it!! malaysian night was a success!! lots of gd food and it felt like home!! i even had teh tarik!!
missed having curry and all the traditional kueh i could get back home!! the msians here are really great cooks!! everything tastes so gd!! i even had ondeh-ondeh.. hehe!! oh oh.. i sound so piggy here.. =p
talked with tess and tammy till 1 plus am.. not sure why.. but juz find tt i'm more independent than most pple think i am.. many pple including friends and family found it surprising tt i wasnt homesick at all.. and totally settling down the first week i was here.. hmmz.. guess i surprised everyone including myself!
will be gg back in abt 2 months.. makes me feel kinda sad to leave NZ.. a place with many great friends, fond memories and lovely experiences.. if only i could extend my stay without worrying tt it would affect my studies.. would be even better if i could juz do a uni transfer and study at otago!! study music here!! i love my music classes.. even though my lecturer is kinda boring.. but i love my coursemates and i my tutor is gd.. even though at times he's kinda boring too..
darn!! y cant NUS open up a few music modules for students to do?? i dun wanna do science of music.. i wanna do a music module offered by the music dept.. not physics dept!! and darn la!! nus did not approve my music mods here at otago.. so i'm juz doing the paper out of pure interest.. cant transfer credits for it.. yikes!!
well.. at least i find tt music is keeping my sch work balanced.. i think i will juz die with 3 stats mod and 1 physics mod.. i would be so bored if its all sciences.. which reminds me!! i have to start planning my modules for next sem.. die lar.. seems like 4 maths core for me next sem.. muz take a 5th breadth to keep me balanced!! haha!! any suggestions?? =p

Hail!!
Today was the first time i saw hail!! We saw the weather forecast that there would be rain and hail in the morning.. and i was contemplating not gg for lessons in the morning if the weather forecast was accurate.. but!! when i woke up.. it was sunny!! and in the end i was in a rush for sch and forgot my assignment!! argh!! luckily in the rush i forgot to lock my door.. so tess could help me get my assignment.. hehe!!
we had plans to go gym and the weather looked fine.. had lunch at central library and within the span of half an hr.. the sky turned grey!! it was raining when we decided to leave the central library.. but it wasnt tt heavy.. so we decided to go unipol to check out if there was boccia.. had fun playing in a mini-match!! but all my balls were way off.. not sure why also.. aiya..
i think it was less than 45mins b4 we had to pack up and leave.. and it was raining outside!! but bunnie suddenly said it was hailing!! tess and i were so shocked and were pressing our faces against the glass to catch a glimpse of hail.. we even tried to see wad it felt like.. its really hard ice lar.. quite painful if u walk in a hailstorm.. but luckily the hail wasn't huge.. i even took a video of the hail.. but it wasnt tt clear since i was using my phone.. of all days i actually forgot to bring my camera today!!!
couldnt walk back home in the hail so decided to hang around unipol playing table-tennis.. however!! we decided to head back to toroa cuz tammy was making lunch and a warm meal and a warm flat sounded so inviting!! luckily it had stopped raining and hailing lar.. but it was freezing!! have to go dig out my gloves and scarf for the coming week!!
took some pics along the way.. it started hailing again juz as we were nearing toroa!! walking in the open when there's hail is another experience.. muz rmb to keep an umbrella in my bag.. and wear warmly!! but it was really exciting!! looks abit like snow lar!! cant wait to see snow when winter is here!! but guess it will be even colder.. brr!! =p

A Breather!! Finally!
Sorry friends back in Spore.. I know you all are having exams rite now.. jia you!! its gg to be over soon and u can enjoy ur 3 months break =) erm.. unless u're one of the few who are taking the special sem.. such as grace and yt.. den ur hols is kinda short.. hmm.. but anyways!! all the best and persevere to the very end!!
hehe!! i juz cleared 2 tests today!! within a span of 4 hours.. gosh.. was so unprepared for the tests but its finally over!! still cant get over the fact that the stats lecturer told us to bring in a helpsheet the day b4 the test!! he told us that he would provide a formula sheet.. but sent an email yesterday saying tt we are to bring in our own helpsheet.. gosh!! i haven finish studying and had to help my friends out for the music test.. in the end wrote the stats helpsheet 1 hour b4 the test.. amazing.. and onli started studying for the music test slightly less than 2 hours b4 it.. anyway.. tot tt both tests were ok so it was alright.. even spotted a mistake in the music test question!! hehe!!
had a rather busy week since sch started.. but it has been quite fun!! toroa had a welcome back bbq on sun and it was gd.. msian nite this sat and there would be a performance and great food!! looking forward to it =p
will take a break today to recharge b4 chionging tml.. super long day cuz i've got physics lab and stats assignment due.. AGAIN.. eeks lar!!!
anyway.. other than the workload.. have been enjoying myself pretty much.. gonna be sad when the semester ends.. counted already.. left 7 more sundays in dunedin.. eekz!! tts fast lar.. exams are coming soon.. in abt a month or so.. haiya.. but in the meanwhile.. gonna enjoy myself!! =)

Feeling Relaxed
I'm back from another trip to Queenstown!! Although its my 3rd time there, I still love spending time there!! Lots of shopping to do, eating or relaxing by the lake, or doing some activities.. sigh!! i'm juz so contented with my life right now..
DAY 1
left toroa at 9am to meet tess, maly and tammy at Queenstown for lunch.. maly was cycling around queenstown when we arrived!!! she's enjoying herself too lar and it sounded so fun!! drove down to Kawarau River to watch Tammy bungee jump.. gdness.. although it isnt as high as maly's.. it was still scary.. and she touched the water with her hands!! some of the other jumpers before her were half submerged in water la.. quite funny actually.. and yana decided to bungee jump too!! gosh.. tts double the excitement and scariness in one day.. went on the gondola again and did the luge this time!! it was fun!! shld try it at sentosa when i'm back.. haha!! checked in at queenstown lodge and it was nice!! the room was big, there was a tv and an attached bathroom.. plus breakfast in the morning!! so the room was worth the money and most importantly, i had a gd nite slp! =)
DAY 2
tammy, yana and tosin had to leave early to go milford sound and i did not join them as i have been there twice already.. so continued sleeping till 8.40!! haha!! it was so gd lar.. woke up and went down for breakfast.. wow.. its was the western breakfast.. totally enjoyed it!! caught the 10am shuttle to town.. and while waiting for the shuttle.. i was juz browsing thru the queenstown guide book and saw horse-trekking!! went horse-riding when i was first in queenstown a few years back!! totally enjoyed it la!! and so decided to go town to check it out.. hehe!! ended up booking myself on the horse trek managed by Real Journeys which included a steamship to Walter Peak, where i was to go on my horse trek!! did many things on an impulse but i loved it.. no stress no hurry and it was really own time own target =p (OTOT)
had some time before the cruise so decided to go to the wharf and enjoy the beautiful lake. Heard a cafe playing some of my favourite songs and decided to get a hot choc and sit out in the open to enjoy the beautiful morning.. it was really relaxing juz to sit in the sun and listen to the songs.. i juz cant describe how amazing and relaxed i felt in a long while.. drinking hot choc and flipping thru guidebooks while facing the beautiful lake.. i felt so happy and contented!! after which i walked along the lake towards queenstown lodge, which was juz on the ourskirts of queenstown.. totally loved the calmness and serenity of the surroundings!! Lake Wakatipu is juz so beautiful and the water is so clear!!
Walked back to queenstown to the other side of the lake.. haha!! amazing views all around!! spent the whole morning juz by the lake.. soaking up the sun and juz enjoying the cool breeze.. there was a funny moment though.. cuz i had this thought that queenstown has become my fav place and i received a text from tess tt it was her fav place!! lol!! we seem to be thinking abt the same kind of stuff lots of time!! anyway.. it was an amazing morning juz to be by the lake and enjoying the serenity.. oh gosh.. i wish to be back there rite now and sit by the lake again!!
walked into town to do some window-shopping.. tess was right la.. i'm so familiar with queenstown.. can walk around without a map and stuff.. so i knew how to go wherever i wanted and not get lost.. saw many backpackers and saw some of them writing diaries.. made me want to buy a diary to record my feelings for tt day too!! i love the idea of backpacking and juz exploring with no schedules to think abt.. everything was OTOT!! i'm so gg backpacking in europe.. and i'll save money with this goal in mind!! =p
as i'm writing this entry.. juz cant seem to describe in words how i felt tt day.. no inhibitions, no rush, no worries and so carefree, loving every moment.. u would have to experience it for yourself!!
caught the 2pm steamship to Walter Peak, which a was 40mins cruise across lake Wakatipu.. amazing scenery on both sides of the ship and also, the steamship itself was beautiful!! the captain allowed a kid to steer the cruise along the way while he sat and gave directions.. was quite amusing lar!! managed to get a look at the engine room where the sailors were working.. it was an interesting experience!!
PS: I'm at a loss of descriptive words rite now.. dunno how to describe my wonderful experiences already =p
Walter Peak is actually a big farmland, with the mountain Walter Peak on it.. abt 28000 hectares.. tts huge lar!! and guess wad?? i was the only person on the horse trek!! yay!! did not manage to get the 12pm slot cuz there was no more space for me on the horse trek.. but i'm so glad tt i was the only one on the 2pm slot.. hehe!! cuz i had a chance to trot on the horse!! if it was a group.. den i would not be able to.. but cuz it was only me, the guide allowed me to trot the horse!! hehe!! it was so much fun!! after which i managed to catch the sheepdogs rounding the sheep and the sheep shearing show.. the shearer was so funny lar!! he asked the little kids to round the sheep and chase it back to the hills and told lots of lame jokes.. had afternoon tea which was provided, and it was in one of the beautiful cottages along the lake!!
took the steamship back to queenstown, and this time.. there was a sing-along session on the ship!! it was so fun and i enjoyed singing along to the piano.. and time seemed to fly juz liddat!! i felt sad tt the cruise had to end when we approached the jetty =( u noe wad?? i'm starting to feel frustrated at writing this entry cuz i juz cant seem to find words tt will aptly describe my feelings and describe the wonderful time i had.. but for my dear seetoh.. i will continue and grunt my way thru this entry!! haha!!
met up with april, wan and steven for dinner.. they had juz arrived in queenstown tt evening.. brought them around queenstown in search of some food.. could not decide wad to eat but they finally decided on a bar and restaurant and we ended up having steak... queenstown is really beautiful at nite.. but its cold cuz its gonna be winter soon.. went shopping and it was really fun!! i'm so gg back to queenstown again b4 i leave NZ!! caught the last shuttle back to the lodge and i was really contented and happy!! it had been such a great day and i loved every moment of it!! =)
PS: no worries if anyone thinks its not safe to wander around on my own.. i felt perfectly safe at all times.. and the pple here are all warm and friendly so it was perfectly safe!! =) but i think my parents will freak out if they knew i have been wandering around on my own.. haha!!
DAY 3
checked out of the lodge after breakfast and made our way back to dunedin.. stopped by arrowtown and wanaka.. arrowtown is a quaint little town where there used to be gold-panning by the river.. saw a small crew doing some filming by the river.. the town is really small but had a nice and cosy feeling!! went to lake wanaka and went to the puzzling world!! the maze and the illusion room was so amazing lar.. managed to find the 4 corners of the labryinth!! it was quite frustrating at first as we always seemed to end up back where we started.. but it was fun =) drove all the way back to dunedin as it was getting late.. but it had been fun =)
ooh!! forgot to mention that for this trip, each time i went to a lake.. i picked some pebbles for remembrance.. they are all quite unique and i've decided to bring them back to spore.. hehe!! i think my parents will flip tt i ship stones back.. haha!! cuz they're heavy if i collect alot.. and as it is.. its already quite heavy!!
hehe!! tess made dinner for me when i got back.. it was so fun juz catching up with her!! i feel like i'm living in bliss.. nice relaxing trip and a warm dinner when i get back.. ah!! thank you so much for the dinner tess!! it was great!! totally loved it =)

tammy, yana and tosin had to leave early to go milford sound and i did not join them as i have been there twice already.. so continued sleeping till 8.40!! haha!! it was so gd lar.. woke up and went down for breakfast.. wow.. its was the western breakfast.. totally enjoyed it!! caught the 10am shuttle to town.. and while waiting for the shuttle.. i was juz browsing thru the queenstown guide book and saw horse-trekking!! went horse-riding when i was first in queenstown a few years back!! totally enjoyed it la!! and so decided to go town to check it out.. hehe!! ended up booking myself on the horse trek managed by Real Journeys which included a steamship to Walter Peak, where i was to go on my horse trek!! did many things on an impulse but i loved it.. no stress no hurry and it was really own time own target =p (OTOT)
had some time before the cruise so decided to go to the wharf and enjoy the beautiful lake. Heard a cafe playing some of my favourite songs and decided to get a hot choc and sit out in the open to enjoy the beautiful morning.. it was really relaxing juz to sit in the sun and listen to the songs.. i juz cant describe how amazing and relaxed i felt in a long while.. drinking hot choc and flipping thru guidebooks while facing the beautiful lake.. i felt so happy and contented!! after which i walked along the lake towards queenstown lodge, which was juz on the ourskirts of queenstown.. totally loved the calmness and serenity of the surroundings!! Lake Wakatipu is juz so beautiful and the water is so clear!!
Walked back to queenstown to the other side of the lake.. haha!! amazing views all around!! spent the whole morning juz by the lake.. soaking up the sun and juz enjoying the cool breeze.. there was a funny moment though.. cuz i had this thought that queenstown has become my fav place and i received a text from tess tt it was her fav place!! lol!! we seem to be thinking abt the same kind of stuff lots of time!! anyway.. it was an amazing morning juz to be by the lake and enjoying the serenity.. oh gosh.. i wish to be back there rite now and sit by the lake again!!
walked into town to do some window-shopping.. tess was right la.. i'm so familiar with queenstown.. can walk around without a map and stuff.. so i knew how to go wherever i wanted and not get lost.. saw many backpackers and saw some of them writing diaries.. made me want to buy a diary to record my feelings for tt day too!! i love the idea of backpacking and juz exploring with no schedules to think abt.. everything was OTOT!! i'm so gg backpacking in europe.. and i'll save money with this goal in mind!! =p
as i'm writing this entry.. juz cant seem to describe in words how i felt tt day.. no inhibitions, no rush, no worries and so carefree, loving every moment.. u would have to experience it for yourself!!
caught the 2pm steamship to Walter Peak, which a was 40mins cruise across lake Wakatipu.. amazing scenery on both sides of the ship and also, the steamship itself was beautiful!! the captain allowed a kid to steer the cruise along the way while he sat and gave directions.. was quite amusing lar!! managed to get a look at the engine room where the sailors were working.. it was an interesting experience!!
PS: I'm at a loss of descriptive words rite now.. dunno how to describe my wonderful experiences already =p
Walter Peak is actually a big farmland, with the mountain Walter Peak on it.. abt 28000 hectares.. tts huge lar!! and guess wad?? i was the only person on the horse trek!! yay!! did not manage to get the 12pm slot cuz there was no more space for me on the horse trek.. but i'm so glad tt i was the only one on the 2pm slot.. hehe!! cuz i had a chance to trot on the horse!! if it was a group.. den i would not be able to.. but cuz it was only me, the guide allowed me to trot the horse!! hehe!! it was so much fun!! after which i managed to catch the sheepdogs rounding the sheep and the sheep shearing show.. the shearer was so funny lar!! he asked the little kids to round the sheep and chase it back to the hills and told lots of lame jokes.. had afternoon tea which was provided, and it was in one of the beautiful cottages along the lake!!
took the steamship back to queenstown, and this time.. there was a sing-along session on the ship!! it was so fun and i enjoyed singing along to the piano.. and time seemed to fly juz liddat!! i felt sad tt the cruise had to end when we approached the jetty =( u noe wad?? i'm starting to feel frustrated at writing this entry cuz i juz cant seem to find words tt will aptly describe my feelings and describe the wonderful time i had.. but for my dear seetoh.. i will continue and grunt my way thru this entry!! haha!!
met up with april, wan and steven for dinner.. they had juz arrived in queenstown tt evening.. brought them around queenstown in search of some food.. could not decide wad to eat but they finally decided on a bar and restaurant and we ended up having steak... queenstown is really beautiful at nite.. but its cold cuz its gonna be winter soon.. went shopping and it was really fun!! i'm so gg back to queenstown again b4 i leave NZ!! caught the last shuttle back to the lodge and i was really contented and happy!! it had been such a great day and i loved every moment of it!! =)
PS: no worries if anyone thinks its not safe to wander around on my own.. i felt perfectly safe at all times.. and the pple here are all warm and friendly so it was perfectly safe!! =) but i think my parents will freak out if they knew i have been wandering around on my own.. haha!!
DAY 3
checked out of the lodge after breakfast and made our way back to dunedin.. stopped by arrowtown and wanaka.. arrowtown is a quaint little town where there used to be gold-panning by the river.. saw a small crew doing some filming by the river.. the town is really small but had a nice and cosy feeling!! went to lake wanaka and went to the puzzling world!! the maze and the illusion room was so amazing lar.. managed to find the 4 corners of the labryinth!! it was quite frustrating at first as we always seemed to end up back where we started.. but it was fun =) drove all the way back to dunedin as it was getting late.. but it had been fun =)
ooh!! forgot to mention that for this trip, each time i went to a lake.. i picked some pebbles for remembrance.. they are all quite unique and i've decided to bring them back to spore.. hehe!! i think my parents will flip tt i ship stones back.. haha!! cuz they're heavy if i collect alot.. and as it is.. its already quite heavy!!
hehe!! tess made dinner for me when i got back.. it was so fun juz catching up with her!! i feel like i'm living in bliss.. nice relaxing trip and a warm dinner when i get back.. ah!! thank you so much for the dinner tess!! it was great!! totally loved it =)
